Unitaid pays tribute to the life and legacy of Marco Aurélio Krieger, Vice President of Production and Innovation in Health at Fiocruz and a steadfast advocate for innovation, equity, and access in global health.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Krieger was instrumental in shaping Fiocruz’s scientific and technological leadership in Brazil and Latin America. His efforts helped advance the country’s capacity to respond to major health challenges, and his tireless commitment to the public good continues to inspire.
Fiocruz has long been a valued partner of Unitaid, and Dr. Krieger’s commitment to strategic collaboration left a lasting impact on our shared mission. Under his leadership, Fiocruz and Unitaid worked together to advance critical interventions for Chagas disease and expand access to HIV prevention, among other areas.
