In recent years, progress against malaria has plateaued and is at threat of backsliding. Young children and pregnant women, along with people experiencing instability such as refugees, migrants and internally displaced people, are disproportionately affected. Effective medicines and other malaria-fighting tools are not reaching as widely as is needed, while other tools are waning in efficacy.
