Unitaid marks the 10-year anniversary of the Paris Agreement with the launch of its Climate action roadmap to 2035

Today marks ten years since the Paris Climate Agreement was adopted. It was a turning point for how the world thinks about our collective responsibility to protect the planet. On this important anniversary, Unitaid is publishing its Climate action roadmap to 2035. The roadmap sets out a clear and practical plan for reducing our emissions and strengthening resilience across our work.

The roadmap explains how Unitaid will do its part by cutting Secretariat emissions by 60% by 2035, reducing the carbon intensity of our investments, and supporting implementing partners as they move forward on their own climate journeys. Developed in partnership with the Climate Action Accelerator, it builds on two years of learning, piloting, and collaboration, since the publication of our climate and health strategy, and it reflects Unitaid’s belief that climate action and global health progress go hand in hand.

As climate change puts increasing pressure on health systems and threatens the impact of lifesaving interventions, this roadmap helps ensure that Unitaid’s work remains sustainable, equitable, and effective in a rapidly changing world. By publishing our footprint and setting out our commitments, we aim to lead by example and support wider transformation across the global health ecosystem.

This anniversary is a reminder of how far the world has come and how much more is needed. Unitaid is committed to contributing to global efforts and working with partners to build a healthier and more resilient future for the people we serve.
