Our response
With our support to the Catalyzing Pediatric Tuberculosis Innovations (CaPTB) project, we aimed to expand access to effective diagnostics, drugs and models of care for children at high risk of TB. The project developed and proved integrated and decentralized models of pediatric TB diagnosis, care and TB preventive treatment. Working in India and nine sub-Saharan African countries (Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe), CaPTB developed methods that increased the number of children started on TB prevention four-fold and achieved TB treatment success in 90% of children with active TB disease.
