At the first-ever UN high-level meeting (UNHLM) on TB, held on 26 September in New York, world leaders endorsed the UN political declaration on TB with the most ambitious TB commitments made to date. Diagnosing and treating 40 million people with TB and providing 30 million people with preventive TB treatment by 2022 were among the targets set by the global community.

The Union Conference will be an opportunity for Unitaid to reaffirm its continued commitment to ending TB and highlight the impact of its investments, bringing the best health innovations to people who need them most. Governments, global health partners and communities will also be able to reflect on the outcomes of the high-level meeting and begin to transform words into concrete action in order to make TB history.
